In response to an official request, the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) of the BARMM, led by Chief of the Policy and Land Use Division Abdulhamid C. Alawi, Jr., met with a team from the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) to discuss several procedures practiced by the Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC).

The orientation was done at the MHSD Operations Center, Bishop Mongeau Street, Cotabato City on June 03, 2021.

The discussions included the RLUC subcommittee on solid waste management, the RLUC Technical Working Group’s (TWG’s) Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) review process, and the Maguindanao Provincial Land Use Committee (PLUC).

Led by Al Kashmir Y. Ko, Division Head of BDPA Local Planning and Coordination Division, the visiting team emphasized the significance of strong partnership between MHSD and BPDA.

“Among the essential intersects in the mandates of BPDA and MHSD are our aims to enhance the RLUC procedural practices and data coordination for Comprehensive Land Use Plans (CLUPs) of Local Government Units (LGUs); discussions like these are important because they help in further contextualizing our plans on current situations such as opportunities for better coordination and limitations in resources”, Chief Alawi emphasized.

The orientation was the initial result of BPDA’s request for resource speakers from the MHSD for the RLUC Orientation on the Review and Approval of PDPFP to be held on June 10, 2021, at the BPDA Conference Hall, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City.

Engr. Muslima K. Abusama, Housing and Homesite Regulations Officer of the MHSD, has been consigned for the upcoming event.
