The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development of the BARMM held its second Management Committee (ManCom) Meeting with Program Review and Evaluation on July 1-2, 2021 at the Dakak Resort and Properties in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.

Led by Minister Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, the activity highlighted the adoption of the minutes of the first ManCom meeting and the presentations and interactive discussions of the status of varied activities, programs and projects the ministry has been implementing this year including the issues encountered and recommended solutions.

Nomaire M. Madid, Chief Admin and Finance Officer, declared that more or less 70% of the issues presented in the previous meeting was already resolved by the management with proper consultation and employment of immediate actions.

Minister Barra exemplified the essence of the assessment based on every implementer’s core purposes. He said every bit of work is done for either survival, popularity, or service. He advised everyone to put the weight on services as it is closest to seeking the pleasure of Allah.

Deputy Minister Atty. Jose Lorena stated that the activity served as a venue for the management to get feedbacks from the people down the line and at the same time, inform them of the new policies and guidelines.

The presentations included updates on the proposed modification of the organizational structure, information and communication strategies, admin and finance, policy development and coordination, environment and land use, housing and human settlements, and quality management system.

The focal persons also presented the status and development of special programs such as Marawi Rehabilitation Program (MRP), Special Development Fund (SDF), Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF), Land Dispute Resolution Committee (LDRC), and Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan (KAPYANAN).

Results of the coordination activities for possible construction or resettlement projects in the island provinces of the BARMM were also reported by the area supervisors from Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi with the officer-in-charge of the BaSulTa Extension Office in Zamboanga City.

Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim facilitated the finalization of next steps and agreements for step-by-step execution of ongoing and upcoming activities and to address pressing issues from each division and section of the ministry.
