Five additional training centers will soon rise for the development of the Bangsamoro after the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the Housing Arm of the BARMM, signed contracts with three winning bidders at the Conference Room of the MHSD Regional Office, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City on May 8, 2023.

Led by Minister Atty. Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, the signing was for the projects funded under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) 2022, chosen by salient Members of the Parliament (MP) at the time from a menu of designs prepared by the MHSD.

One project is a Two-Storey Multi-Purpose Youth Training Center to be constructed in Brgy. Lomidong, Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur while the other four will be One-Storey Multi-Purpose Human Development Training Centers.

One will be constructed in Brgy. Poblacion 8, Cotabato City under the Office of MP Romeo K. Sema, another in Brgy. Simuay, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao under the Office of MP Mudjib C. Abu.

Meanwhile, two training centers will be constructed in Lanao del Sur, one in Brgy. Tampilong, Marawi City, and another in Brgy. Katogonan, Buadipuso Buntong, both of which are funded under Minister Barra’s name during his time as MP.

As of the contract signing, Minister Barra has a total of seven training center projects being implemented by the MHSD funded under his Office during his time as MP, six of which are located across Lanao del Sur and one in Lanao del Norte.

“The construction of these training centers will enable us to reach more or other sectors of the society aside from the housing projects,” Minister Barra said.

“We are not just accountable to the Bangsamoro, but to the Filipino and the Philippine National Government as a whole, and ultimately, to Allah SWT. We hope we can work together, and we hope this will not be the end, but the beginning of working together for the Filipino people, for the Bangsamoro people,” Minister Barra added.

For the one-storey training centers, ENRA T-Square Construction, led by its proprietor Jann Rehman L. Alarcon, will be constructing for the projects in Cotabato City and Maguindanao, while AYAH Construction Service, led by its proprietor Sohaya C. Langco, will be constructing for the projects in Lanao del Sur.

JCL86 Builders, Inc., led by its proprietor Anshari C. Lomodag, Jr. JD, MPA, will construct the two-storey training center.

The Office of MP Romeo K. Sema was represented by Chief of Staff Kamaludin K. Laguiab, Jr., while the Office of MP Mudjib C. Abu was represented by focal person Mohammad Ali A. Usman during the contract signing.

Salem C. Demuna, Director II for Operations and Management Services, welcomed the officials and all the attendees, by sharing the MHSD’s dua’ (prayer) to deliver the Ministry’s mandates under the leadership and initiative of Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim with by Allah SWT as witness.

Abdulhamid C. Alawi, Jr., Chief of Housing and Human Settlements Division closed the ceremony congratulating the Planning and Design Division through its Chief Engr. Zainodin A. Buisan for continuously serving as backbone to the Ministry’s infrastructure projects. He thanked the contractors as partners in public service, new and old, for their shared commitments.

The partner contractors all committed to ensure the quality and timely completion of the project aiming to meet if not exceed the expectation of the MHSD.
