Gender and Development (GAD) representatives from the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the Housing Arm of the BARMM, participated in the Training on the Formulation of Gender and Development (GAD) Agenda held at the Sydney Hotel, General Santos City on March 28-30, 2023 as the Ministry completes its celebration of the Women’s Month.

The activity aimed to capacitate the BARMM Ministries, Offices, and Agencies (MOA) on the formulation of their respective GAD Agenda based on their mandates, for the preparation of their GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) using the right process and procedures. This is to ensure that GAD is mainstreamed and the 5% GAD fund will be judiciously utilized.

The last day of the activity was devoted on the Culmination of this year’s Women’s Month, concluded by Bainon G. Karon, Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC) Chairperson. A summary of the month-long activity was presented as highlight of the culmination.

“For this year’s Women’s Month, the MHSD joined the kick-off motorcade, then focused on salient topics during the MHSDelivers Radio Program,” shared Zuhaira U. Ebrahim, MHSD GAD Focal Person (FP).

The topics discussed during the MHSDelivers Radio Program began with an overview of Bangsamoro Women’s Month 2023 with Project Development Officer Saharah K. Ali, followed by the Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law) with Atty. Badrodin A. Mangindra, and ended with the Magna Carta of Women with Atty. Jayhanne K. Mamogcat.

Representing the MHSD with GAD FP Ebrahim were Charanie B. Pandi, GAD Alternate FP, Nurhayma M. Pendatun, Accounting I, and Rehanna M. Kedtag, , Budget Section Administrative Aide.
