The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the Housing Arm of the BARMM, through its Environment, Land Use and Urban Development Division (ELUUDD), is now ready to carry out one-on-one sessions with Maguindanao LGUs for the review of their Comprehensive Land Use Plans (CLUP) formulated and updated after the successful training-workshop covering the 3rd Module held at the Hotel Eighty-Eight, Koronadal City on May 24-26, 2023.

The three-day activity covered Land Use Analysis, Setting of Goals and Objectives, Development Thrusts and Spatial Strategies, and Maps Preparation through the use of Geographical Information System (GIS).

Each topic was then complemented with a workshop, followed by presentation of outputs.

The participating Local Government Units (LGUs) were grouped into mappers and writers.

Midway through the training, the mappers focused on the GIS under the facilitation of ELUUDD’s cartographers and Housing and Homesite Regulation Officers (HHROs).

The writers were oriented on several contents of CLUP covered in Module 3, presented by resource speakers Jovita G. Solarte, Assistant Regional Director from DHSUD-XII, Engr. Rahib A. Labay, and Engr. Muslima K. Abusama, MHSD’s HHRO IV.

By the end of the training, the mappers and writers convened to present their wirkshop outputs, which will be improved upon and integrated in their respective CLUP after consolidation with their offices.

LGUs in attendance from Maguindanao del Norte were Datu Blah Sinsuat, Parang, and Upi, while those from Maguindanao del Sur were from Datu Saudi Ampatuan, General Salipada K. Pendatun, and Sultan sa Barongis.
