Four employees from the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) participated in the Training on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) on COVID-19 conducted by the Ministry of Health (MOH)-BARMM  last June 22-23, 2021 at the Precious Cabana Ynna Beach Resort, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

The representatives from the ministry were Zuhaira U. Ebrahim, RN and Shahani T. Tan, RN from the Office of the Director General and Rahima I. Guiamad and Bailyn L. Benito from the planning section.

Aisha Aloha S. Enampadan, RN, LLB MOH Deputy Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) Head, said the IPC Training was materialized as a result of the agreement from BARMM’s cabinet meeting. “It aims to respond to the need to intensify the mitigating measures against COVID-19 in all ministries of the BARMM”, Enampadan stated.

The training also aimed to increase the participants’ knowledge on actions to be taken in responding to a COVID-19 case within the ministry and improve their skills on performing oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swabs for COVID-19 tests.

The trainees had a graded return demonstration for the donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment and Swabbing.

Written exams were done by the organizers to ensure understanding of the inputs given, in which Ebrahim obtained the highest perfect score.

In behalf of MHSD, Executive Assistant Ebrahim expressed her gratitude for the knowledge and skills shared by the MOH. She committed to discuss with the MHSD’s management the integration of the IPC within the ministry’s programs and activities.
