The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the Housing Arm of the BARMM, led by Minister Atty. Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, turned over the two-storey youth training center to the Coalition of Moro Youth Movement (CMYM) in Brgy. Cabingan, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur on November 12, 2023.
Minister Barra highlighted the Ministry’s training centers completely implemented, the latest marking the 8th turnover this year. Of the seven previously turned over training centers to the Bangsamoro, one is in Sulu, two are in Lanao del Norte, and four are established in LDS.

Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, CMYM President, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all parties involved in the implementation of the project, committing on behalf of the CMYM, to do their best to train, guide, and educate the youth, not only in Lanao del Sur but also region and country wide.
After the ceremonial ribbon cutting signifying the turnover, participants and witnesses of the activity went around the building, both floors containing two training rooms, one kitchen pantry, two comfort rooms for male and female, one prayer room and an emergency exit. The office room is in the first floor and the second floor of the training center has a conference room.

The training center was funded under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) 2021 of Member of the Parliament (MP) Atty. Anna Tarhata Basman and implemented by the MHSD.
Closely monitoring the training center’s construction was the MHSD’s Provincial Office in Lanao del Sur, led by Director Benjamin D. Alangca, EnP, RF.
MP Marjanie M. Mimbantas, Bangsamoro Youth Commission Chairperson, who has been present and helpful for the project’s implementation since its groundbreaking stage, stated that one of the hindrances to conducting training for the youth is the venue. Thus, the training center will serve as an avenue for conducting regular programs for the youth.

The youth training center, built by the Al-Hayat Construction is specifically designed to meet the diverse needs of the youth in Marawi City and the whole Lanao del Sur. It is expected that the center will bring about positive changes, empowering the youth to become future leaders and valuable contributors to the Bangsamoro.
Witnessing the momentous turnover were MHSD staff, representatives from the Office of MP Atty. Basman, Brangay Local Government Unit Officials of Cabingan, BYC members and volunteers, CMYM members and volunteers, and residents of the Barangay and nearby areas.
