The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, with its Coaching Workshop on the Formulation of Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), aided the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Binidayan in updating its maps and better understanding the data computation that happened on July 4-8, 2022, at the Binidayan Municipal Hall, Lanao del Sur.
Assisted by the technical team from the MHSD’s Environment and Land Use Division (ELUD), the local government integrated Climate Change Assessment (CCA), Disaster Risk Assessment (DRA) and Thematic Maps in their CLUP, resulting in the updating of additional maps and correction of outdated maps.
Shatta Raraco, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC), shared Binidayan’s history as fruit exporters then, and how that history was used as basis in adding fruit export to the commercial chapter of their CLUP.
The LGU officials expressed determination to serve in the long term for the province of Lanao del Sur, utilizing the land use plan, together with agenda on economic development and eco-tourism.
LGU-Binidayan is expecting to complete its CLUP within the latter half of 2022.
