The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development joined the 2nd BARMM Planners Congress, conducted by the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) on December 19, 2022, at the SMX Convention, SM Lanang, Davao City.
With the theme “Strengthening Regional and Local Planner’s Linkages and Collaboration towards Holistic Socioeconomic in the Bangsamoro,” the activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of BARMM planners on the basic concepts of regional accounts and welfare indicators, green economy, anticipatory action and shock responsive social protection.
Participants from the regional and local planners discussed the topics and shared ideas during the open forum.
After the orientation on Regional Accounts and Welfare Indicators by Mr. Ever Abasolo, participants underwent a workshop on Regional and Provincial Contributions to Regional Targets, where they answered focus questions to be related to their respective offices.
Other presentations shared throughout the congress were the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan Macroeconomic Targets by Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali, BPDA Bangsamoro Director General (BDG); Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN- Presentation of Anticipatory Action and Social Protection by Mr. Edlin Lumanog, National Disaster Risk Management and Anticipatory Action Coordinator; Environment and Natural Resource Sustainable Management Sub-Group Leader by Ms. Elirozz Carlie Labaria; and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations by the Green Economy via Zoom.
Formally opening the program were speeches from Hon. Ahod B. Ebrahim, BARMM Chief Minister, BPDA BDG Engr. Ali, and Engr. Akan G. Tula, Regional Director, Philippine Statistics Authority-BARMM.
The MHSD was represented by Engr. Normelyn A. Ibad from the Planning and Design Division.
Participants of the activity were BARMM Planners from different ministries and Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDC) from the Local Government Units (LGUs).
