In its continuous pursuit of excellence, the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD), the Housing Arm of the BARMM, successfully conducted its Entrance Conference for Fiscal Year 2024 on September 12, 2024, at the Conference Room of the MHSD Regional Office, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City.
The event highlighted the ministry’s dedication to transparency and accountability, with active participation from the Audit Team of the Commission on Audit (COA)-BARMM alongside MHSD’s top management.
Together, the officials engaged in meaningful discussions to ensure that all financial operations and processes are in compliance with standards, setting the stage for a thorough and effective audit process. The Entrance Conference aimed at communicating what is expected from the management as well as the COA.
The MHSD was led by Minister Atty. Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, with Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim, the service directors, division chiefs, and section heads.
Minister Barra, officially delivered his welcome address, highlighting the MHSD’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities and reinforcing accountability in all aspects of its services.
“We are truly grateful to have the Commission on Audit working alongside with the Ministry, offering valuable guidance and support in managing our expenditure plans. We know that we are accountable for every fund entrusted to us, not only in fulfilling our government responsibilities but in every aspect,” Minister Barra said.
Following the welcome message, Auditor Danny T. Calib, State Auditor IV, provided a comprehensive overview of the key audit areas that will receive focused attention during the Financial Audit and Compliance Audit.
His detailed presentation underscored the importance of addressing these critical aspects to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and adherence to regulations. Auditor Amanodin Said, State Auditor V and Supervising Auditor, contributed further by offering additional insights and expanding on the points discussed.
The directors, along with the chiefs and heads from various divisions and sections of the Ministry, also expressed their strong commitment to staying responsive to the audit’s demands, reaffirming their dedication to upholding accountability and transparency throughout the process.
Following the final remarks from Supervising Auditor Said, Director General Ebrahim delivered a closing message, expressing his gratitude to everyone involved in the success of the activity.
He further assured that the Ministry remains committed to adhering to policies and promoting transparency in all its operations, reinforcing the importance of accountability and moral governance.
“The Ministry’s accounts are fully open for review. We are here to listen and be guided by the COA, because we believe that every single centavo spent from the people’s money must be in strict compliance with policies and the law. Our commitment is to ensure that all funds are used responsibly, transparently,” Director General remarked.
