As part of its celebration of the National Shelter Month, the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD), the Housing Arm of the BARMM, successfully turned over a multipurpose, one-storey human development training center to the residents of Barangay Raguisi, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte on October 06, 2024.

The ceremony was led by Bangsamoro Director General (BDG) Esmael W. Ebrahim with Hon. Mudjib C. Abu, Member of the Parliament, and the proponent of the project, funded under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) 2022.

BDG Ebrahim enumerated the training centers turned over by the MHSD, expressing his happines that a number of the members of the parliament have given their trust to the Ministry to implement their projects.

He then detailed the most recent training center turned over with Hadji Abdullah “Bravo” G. Macapaar at Camp Bilal Bin Rabbah in Sitio Kura-Kura, Brgy. Tamparan, Munai, Lanao del Norte (LDN) and that on  October 7, will be the turnover of another training center in Brgy. Salimbao, also in the same town.

“These training centers will serve as venues in capacitating every sector in the communities in leadership and da’wah thereby improving governance and spirituality ti further development,” BDG Ebrahim said.

Suharto S. Wahab, Director II for Technical and Regulatory Services, enjoined the beneficiaries to properly utilize the training center and maintain its operations.

“Care for this training center like it belongs to us so that it may retain its sustainability for future generations,” Dir. Wahab said. He then crafted an acronym using the Proponent MP’s surname, Abu, to remember everyone’s responsibility in maintaining the new structure. He described Abu to mean Accountability, Building community, and Unity in service.

“This center is proof of our collective desire to empower the people of Brgy. Raguisi. It is not just a building; it symbolizes hope, growth, and opportunity for all. Through this formation, we envision a place where skills are judged, minds are forged, and the community unites to build a better future for Sultan Kudarat and the entire Bangsamoro region,” said Noroden S. Abdullah, Provincial Director of MHSD-Maguindanao.

MP Abu chose Raguisi as the location of the project because he witnessed the community’s speed for development. After expressing his gratefulness to the MHSD and the BARMM government, he hoped that the training center will gather and nurture the community’s capacities.

Meanwhile, Suwaib L. Oranon committed his full support to the MHSD projects in the whole of BARMM, while Mohammad Asher Ante, Community Leader, represented the people of Brgy. Raguisi in accepting responsibility over the training center, committing to use and maintain it for the betterment of the ummah.

Hamzah A. Salik, Provincial Director of MHSD-Special Geographic Area, Atty. Janice-zah M. Macapantar, Chief of the Environment Land Use and Urban Development Division, Engr. Zainodin A. Buisan, Chief of the Planning and Design Division, Yasser S. Mama, Chief of the Monitoring and Evaluation Division, engineers, architects, and other key personnel of MHSD actively participated in the turnover ceremony.
