With the successful groundbreaking ceremony led by the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the housing arm of the BARMM on November 30, 2022, one hundred housing units will soon rise in two sites in Midsayap under the Special Geographic Area (SGA) of the BARMM.

Fifty housing units will be constructed in Brgy. Crossing Kapinpilan, and another 50 in Brgy. Nabalawag.

Bangsamoro Director General (BDG) Esmael W. Ebrahim, on behalf of Minister Atty. Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, shared that, as part of the MHSD’s mandate, the project will prioritize the families and widowers of mujahideen in the area who have been deprived of descent shelters over the years.

DG Ebrahim assured that the beneficiaries will be profiled with assistance from the Local Government Units (LGUs) and will be selected based on strict guidelines to ensure that title, land and house will be given to the most qualified and in need.

Parliament Member Mohammad Kelie U. Antao, as one of the local stakeholders for the project, identified the MHSD’s Resettlment Projects as one of the necessities of the Bangsamoro.

Engr. Zainodin A. Buisan, Chief of Planning and Design Division, shared that the houses will be one-storey residential buildings with a 49 sq.m. floor area and two bedrooms, funded under the General Appropriations Act of the Bangsamoro (GAAB) 2022. 

As of the groundbreaking ceremony, the MHSD has a total of 250 housing units under construction in the SGA.

RDEN Construction and Supply is the contractor for the project in Brgy. Crossing Kapinpilan is, while ACJ Construction Resources is the contractor for the project in Brgy. Nabalawag.
