The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development presented and successfully defended its project on building 200 housing units under the Marawi Rahabilitation Program (MRP) during the second meeting of the Program Steering Committee (PSC) of 2021 held at the Ministry of Public Works Conference Room, MPW Compound, Matampay, Marawi City on February 10.

The meeting was presided by Deputy Chief Minister for the Mainlands Aleem Ali B. Solaiman and MHSD Minister and Member of the Parliament (MP) Atty. Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra.

Planning Officer Zainodin Buisan said with funding from the Office of the Chief Minister, the proposed 200 housing units that will benefit 200 IDP-beneficiaries, included road and drainage system, to be erected, which will need around four hectares of land.

Discussions on the exact location are ongoing, but are expected to be concluded by the end of the month.

The PSC Meeting is held quarterly for the MRP. Other discussions held during the second PSC Meeting included updates on the implementation of the 238,860,000 funds from the 2018 Continuing Appropriations allotment for Marawi Rehabilitation.

According to Ansary A. Noor, MHSD Focal Person for MRP, The Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan (KAPYANAN), previously known as Bangsamoro Regional Inclusive Development for Growth and Empowerment (BRIDGE), has also presented updates on its project on the construction of 1000 housing units in the Bangsamoro Region.

Other proposals presented in the PSC Meeting came from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Services and Development, the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government.

The team, led by DCM Solaiman and Minister Barra, with MP Marjanie Macasalong, MP Abdullah ‘Bravo’ Macapaar, Al-Haj, MP Tarhata Basman, and other significant members, made an ocular inspection of the status of the projects under Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) at the Marawi Ground Zero.
