The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development of the BARMM, led by Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim, welcomed the representatives from the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) for a meeting to enhance the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for future collaboration, held at the Office of the Director General, Dilangalen Building, Bishop Mongeau Street, Cotabato City, on July 7, 2021.

The MHSD and CRS have previously met to discuss the creation of the MoU for the year 2021, which was initially planned for signing last month. Due to scheduling complications, the two parties met again to reschedule the signing later July or early August this year, that will call for realignment of the proposed implementation schedule.

The MHSD and CRS will further enhance the contents of the MoU and, upon the review and submission to the Office of the Chief Minister, through the Bangsamoro Attorney General’s Office (BAGO), they will proceed with the signing as soon as possible.

Among the contents of the MoU are future collaborative activities that include a site inspection of one of CRS’s projects in Tacloban City, as well as capacity building for selected staff from the two parties.

The CRS is a humanitarian aid organization based in the United States of America, which helps the poor and vulnerable overseas by responding to major emergencies, fighting disease and poverty, and nurturing peaceful and just societies.

Project Officer Bai Maroudz S. Ibrahim and Construction Manager Arnold L. Gasta represented the CRS during the meeting that was also attended by the key personnel of the MHSD.
