The Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) members, along with Secretariat and Technical Working Group, of the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, enhances knowledge on government procurement during the Training on Republic Act 9184 and its 2016 Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), conducted on February 16-17, 2022, at The Farm, Koronadal City.

The training aimed to develop and capacitate the BAC team on government procurement techniques and structured methods used to streamline the ministry procurement process and achieve desired results while saving cost, reducing time, and building win-win supplier relationships.

Resource persons from the Department of Budget and Management Regional XII Office led the two-day training with presentations and workshops on government procurement. Between presentations, Regional Director Akmad J. Usman and Assistant Regional Director Atty. Libertine C. Guanzon, CPA, answered detailed questions from the MHSD on how to handle situations as covered by the IRR.

The MHSD and DBM-XII showed interest in further collaboration on procurement training and planned for longer training sessions in the future.

The program formally began with opening message from Officer-in-Charge, Director of Operations and Management Nomaire M. Madid, and ended with closing message from Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim.
