SIMUNUL, Tawi-Tawi | The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) headed by Minister Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, handed out 53 units of solar panel to the residents of Tubig Indangan, Simunul, Tawi-Tawi on November 7, 2019.
This was MHSD’s pledge as part of the Bangsamoro government’s Project TABANG (Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan), an initiative of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) – Chief Minister Hon. Ahod Balawag Ebrahim to extend basic aid and necessary assistance to its constituents.
In addition, the Ministry also conducted a survey to determine the needs of the residents in terms of livelihood and housing assistance, for reference, in its future programs as dictated in its mandates. Simultaneously, the island of Simunul was jampacked by both locals and tourists in celebration of the 639th Founding Anniversary of the Sheikh Karimul Makhdum Mosque, a commemoration of the introduction of Islam in the Philippines.
