The key officials of the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) of the BARMM and the Bangsamoro Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) met with the representatives of the Polloc Freeport and Ecozone (PFEZ) for the presentation of the proposed Relocation Project for Port Squatters worth Php300 million.

The meeting and inspection activity were held yesterday (July 13, 2021) at the PFEZ office in Polloc, Parang, Maguindanao with respective teams from the MHSD led by Director General Esmael Ebrahim and BEZA led by Executive Director Mohamad Basher L. Abas.

Nasrodin Masakal, PFEZ Port Engineer with Iharyf A. Sucol, Port Administrator presented the details of the proposed project that targets the construction of 582 housing units with 56-square meter finish floor area, and with community health center, water reservoir, recreation center, wet market, and a mosque.

Director General Ebrahim, after listening to the presentation, expressed his willingness to partner up with PFEZ and BEZA in realizing the project that is expected to help address the need for relocation of the informal settlers in the village.

The team from the MHSD visited the settlement area in the place and had the first actual ocular observation of the condition of the settlers. 

The members of the MHSD group were Planning Officer Engr. Zainodin Buisan, Engineer II Yasser Rapun, Housing and Homesite Regulations Officer Yasser Mama, and Project Evaluation Officer Sharja Adela Kidas.
