Led by Minister Atty. Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the housing arm of the BARMM, ceremoniously broke ground for the construction of 50-Unit Core Shelters with Solar Powered Light and Water System under the Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan (KAPYANAN) Project of the Office of the Chief Minister held at the project location in Brgy. Sapot, Buadipuso Buntong, Lanao del Sur on July 10, 2022.
Minister Barra highlighted the essence of the housing unit design, and said every unit will have 3 rooms, one for the couple, one for the girls and one for the boys. He also added that the ministry will do its part in the project’s implementation and encouraged the contractor, TESAR Builders, to accomplish accordingly their commitment on the housing project’s construction.
The project was funded under the Bangsamoro Appropriations Act (BAA) 2020 and KAPYANAN identified the beneficiaries for the housing project from former Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) combatants, some of whom are from the Camp Darussalam Saudi Brigade.
Engr. Farhan Abdulsalam, Project Engineer of TESAR Builders, thanked the ministry for trusting them and expressed his commitment to work hand-in-hand with the MHSD.
The ceremony formally began when Sultan Adel Ustadz Usman Bating, Buadipuso Buntong Local Government Unit Representative and MILF Brigade Morshid, welcomed the MHSD team to the site, followed by the opening remarks from Ustadz Abdulhalim Cabugatan, Member of the Political Committee of the MILF Saudi Brigade.
Ustadz Cabugatan expressed his gratitude to the ministry for choosing the Saudi Brigade members as the beneficiaries of the housing project.
Also in attendance to the groundbreaking ceremony were MHSD Project Engineers headed by Engr. Salic C. Pao, MHSD Marawi Rehabilitation Project Team headed by Engr. Ansary A. Noor, staff from the Office of Parliament Member Barra led by Chief-of-Staff Ajeeb Dhiauddin Barra and Camp Darussalam Saudi Brigade combatants headed by Commander Hji. Salic Umbaro Decampong.
