The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the Housing Arm of the BARMM, wrapped up the year 2023 with the turnover ceremony of a two-storey multipurpose training center in Purok Malipayon 2, Islamic Center, Lupon, Davao Oriental on December 31.

The activity, highlighted by the ribbon cutting, the significant messages, and MoA signing, was led by MHSD Bangsamoro Director General (BDG) Esmael W. Ebrahim and Member of the Parliament (MP) Hon. Hussein P. Muñoz, who funded the construction under his Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) 2021.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by MP Muñoz and Uz. Rodgie S. Papacan, Officer-in-Charge of The Kaunlaran at Gabay (KaGan) Davao Inc., representing the recipient.

Dubbed by MP Muñoz as Bangsamoro Training Center, the building was described by BDG Ebrahim as one of the MHSD ‘s pioneering projects outside the BARMM’s territory.

The MHSD is implementing 50 housing units and one training center under the Special Development Fund (SDF) 2020, another training center funded under TDIF 2021 has completed construction, two training centers under TDIF 2022 are under construction and another two under TDIF 2023 are under procurement, all are located in areas outside of the BARMM.

“The signing signified the passing of responsibility, reflecting our unwavering trust in the stewardship of the recipient,” MP Muñoz said. He also thanked the MHSD for the efforts in making the said building possible within its timeline.

Representatives of the MHSD who witnessed the ceremony were Salem C. Demuna, REA, Director II for Operations and Management Services, Engr. Zainodin A. Buisan, Chief of the Planning and Design Division, other MHSD staff, officials and employees under the Office of MP Muñoz, KaGan Davao Inc., Local Government Units (LGUs), and residents of the area.
