A team from the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the Housing Arm of the BARMM, inspected the progress of several infrastructure projects across Basilan on December 3-4, 2022.
Led by Salem C. Demuna, REA, Director II for Operations and Management Services, and guided by the MHSD Provincial Office of Basilan, the two-day inspection covered projects funded under the General Appropriations Act of the Bangsamoro (GAAB), Special Development Fund (SDF), and Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF).
Funded under GAAB 2021-2022 is the construction of 200-unit housing resettlement project in Maluso, Tipo-Tipo, Lamitan City, and Hadji Mohammad Ajul.
Proposed by former Member of the Parliament (MP) Faiz Alauddin, another 100 housing units are under construction in Tipo-Tipo, funded under the SDF 2020.
Also funded under SDF 2020, proposed by former MP Muslima Asmawil, 50 housing units are under construction in Hadji Mohammad Ajul.
One-unit training center is under construction in Lamitan city, funded under the TDIF 2021 of former MP Muslima Asmawil.
Assisting Dir. Demuna were Nomaire M. Madid, Chief of Administrative and Finance Division, Engineers Normelyn A. Ibad, Abuhandis B. Kasan, Norudin G. Lali, Adam P. Marzoc, and Basilan Officers Abdulhamid S. Tan, Basilan Area Supervisor, Nidzmalyn I. Kasim, Basilan Area Coordinator, Rona Liza I. Abella, Executive Assistant, and Abubakar H. Panjakilan, Administrative Aide.
As of the date, the Ministry has a total of 350 units of housing projects funded under GAAB 2021-2022 and SDF 2020-2022 in the province of Basilan.
