The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the Housing Arm of the BARMM, inspired by the pros of inclusivity, joined Ministries, Agencies and Offices (MOA) of the BARMM in the Human Rights Education Forum, held at the Ebrahim Hall, Em Manor Convention Center, Cotabato City on March 7, 2024.
Leslie S. Pesante, Administrative Officer III under the Human Resources Management Section, shared valuable lessons that would strengthen the operations of the Ministry’s Grievance Committee.
With the theme “Ensuring Protection, Inspiring Inclusion, Pursuing Participation: A Human Rights Education Forum and Launching of the BHRC Gender Development Ombud Guidelines”, the forum gave way for the resource speakers to discuss the Magna Carta of Women, which is a human rights law for women that seeks to eliminate discrimination through the recognition, protection, fulfillment, and promotion of the rights of Filipino women, especially those belonging to the marginalized sectors of society, and Anti-Violence for Women in Politics.
The activity was facilitated by the Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission in partnership with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, and is part of the BHRC’s initiative for Women’s Month to focus on how women are treated in politics and what rights to remember in terms of politics.
