The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, the Housing Arm of the BARMM, joined the Bangsamoro in commemorating meaningful history this year as Bangsamoro History Month kicked off with a ceremony at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City on March 01, 2024.

“The ministry’s mission aligns with the theme ‘Commemorating the History for a Stronger, Enduring, and Resilient Bangsamoro’ by its emphasis of the importance of resilience. By creating communities that can withstand environmental challenges, socio-economic disparities, and historical injustices, the Ministry contributes to the resilience of the Bangsamoro people as they navigate the complexities of their history and strive for a brighter future,” said Bai Almirah A. Dianalan, Administrative Assistant V and one of the participants during the kick-off ceremony.

“In essence, the Ministry’s mission reflects a commitment to honoring the past, addressing present needs, and building a resilient future for the Bangsamoro people.,” she added.

Chief Minister’s Proclamation No. 0001, series of 2021, declares the month of March every year as “Bangsamoro History Month,” recognizing the many remarkable occasions in the history of the Bangsamoro in pursuit of peace and the right to self- determination.

It was March 2023 when the MHSD broke ground for the construction of 100 housing units in Brgy. Pindolunan, Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur and 50 housing units in Brgy. Poblacion, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, that the Ministry was recognized and received a plaque of appreciation during the MANGgagawa Awards: Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat.

Meanwhile, in March2022, the MHSD signed contracts for the construction of 250 housing units for Resettlement Projects as well as land development and improvement across the region.
