Expressing oneness with the BARMM, the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development officially manifested its support to the celebration of the 5th Bangsamoro Foundation Day with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, by marching along Governor Gutierez Avenue from Sardonyx Plaza to the Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC) on January 21, 2024.

Led by Bangsamoro Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim with Salem C. Demuna, REA, Director II for Operations and Management Services, Suharto S. Wahab, EnP, REA, REB, Director II for Technical and Regulatory Services, and Noroden S. Abdullah, RF, Director for Maguindanao Provincial Office, the MHSD joined the celebration of five years of progress and unity in the BARMM.

With the theme “A Journey towards Mutual Understanding, Peaceful Co-Existence, and a Shared Future in the Bangsamoro,” the BARMM commemorates continued growth and prosperity for a brighter future for the Bangsamoro homeland and its people.

“On January 21, 2019, we witnessed the result of our courage and hope. We saw how our people decidedly and unanimously ratified the Bangsamoro Organic Law that paved the way for the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. Alhamdulillah. Five years on, our journey towards building an empowered, cohesive, and progressive Bangsamoro continues to be filled with positivity and inspiration,” Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim said after the ceremonial banging of the gong, which symbolized the official start of the week-long celebration.

Throughout the week, the MHSD will be ceremoniously awarding housing units in Brgy. Laguitan, Datu Blah Sinsuat and Barangay Banubo, Sultan Kudarat, and will also be turning over shelter toolkits to the Local Government Units (LGUs) afflicted by Typhoon Paeng.

It will also turn over a training center in Bagua, Cotabato City, two units of permanent houses in Brgy. Kalanganan II, Cotabato City and will man a booth for housing-related services with the Pag-IBIG Fund and Registry of Deeds, regulatory services for real estate and homeowners’ association, and MHSD infrastructure projects.
