For the optimum implementation of 16 training center, core shelter, and resettlement housing projects across the Bangsamoro Region, the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD)-the housing arm of the BARMM, signed contracts with winning bidders, with the presence of the select members of the parliament at the Conference Room of MHSD Regional Office, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City today, June 22, 2022.

Led by Minister Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, the contract signing was aimed at officially starting the construction of multi-purpose training centers throughout the BARMM and 200 core shelters in Lanao del Sur.

Multi-purpose 2-Storey Human Development Training Centers will be constructed in Bagua II, Cotabato City, in Brgy. Kalsada, Sultan Kudarat, and in Brgy. Maganda, Lamitan City, Basilan, funded under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) 2021 with funds from the Office of the Parliament Members.

Meanwhile, Lanao del Sur will be expecting multi-Purpose 2-Storey Human Development Training Centers, to be constructed in Brgy. Cabingan and Brgy. Rorogagos, both in Marawi City, another in Brgy. Dimalna, MSU Marawi City. The 1-storey training centers will be constructed in Udalo, Piagapo, and in Brgy. Bagoa Ingud, Ditsan-Ramain. A 2-Storey Youth Training Center will be built in Sawer, Masiu.

In Lanao del Norte, a Multi-Purpose 2-Storey Youth Training Center will be constructed in Pacalundo, Balo-I and a Multi-Purpose 1- Storey Youth Training Center will be built in Brgy. Lupon, Davao Oriental.

Funded under the KAPYANAN (Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan) Project of the Office of the Chief Minister, 200 units Core Shelter with Solar Powered Light and Water System will be established in Lanao del Sur, 50-units of which will be in Brgy. Sapot, Buadipuso Buntong, 50 in Brgy. Balintad, Madamba, 50 in Brgy. Dilimbayan, Maguing, and another 50 in Brgy. Proper, Tubaran.

A Resettlement Housing Project of 50 units will be constructed in Sitio Marang[1]Marang, Barangay Tuburan Proper, Muhammad Ajul, Basilan, with funds from the Special Development Fund 2020.

Minister Barra emphasized the bases of such significant undertaking. “We base our compliance not just on legal basis but mostly on the requirements of Islam and we always choose to be preventive and not curative,” he said.

“We believe we have chosen, after strictly following all procurement rules, honest and competent contractors whom we consider partners in improving the lives of the Bangsamoro,” the minister added.

Meanwhile, Member of the Parliament Ibrahim D. Ali imparted insightful message to the group where he expressed the very reason for the implementation of the projects that is to cater the needs and for the interest and welfare of the Bangsamoro making sure to benefit the next generations.

The proprietors or the winning construction firms assured the ministry of their commitments to implement and complete the projects, ensuring quality, and following the set timeline, and plans and specifications.

Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim concluded the two rounds of contract signing by reminding the group that Allah, SWT was witness to the contract signing that was to ensure the execution of the projects based on their set specifications and timelines.
