For the implementation of three resettlement housing projects worth PhP125.48 million in Tawi-Tawi, the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD), the Housing Arm of the BARMM, inked memoranda of agreement (MOA) with Hon. Yshmael I. Sali of the provincial local government on April 15, 2024 at the Astoria Greenbelt, Makati, Metro Manila.

Minister Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra and Deputy Minister Aldin D. Asiri signed for MHSD for the projects each to construct 50 housing units in Brgy. Likud Tabawan, South Ubian, Brgy. North Larap, Sitangkai, and in Talisay, Sibutu with funds from the General Appropriations Act of the Bangsamoro (GAAB) 2024.

As presented by Engr. Zainodin D. Buisan, each housing unit will have 6×8 square-meter floor area, with three bedrooms, living and dining area, porch, common bathroom, and service area at the back.

Minister Barra expressed his happiness over the fact that the Ministry and the provincial government are in the same frequency of serving the Bangsamoro.

“This is how significant partnership and good relationship between the BARMM and the local government units are,” Minister Barra stated.

Governor Sali manifested his gratefulness to the MHSD for its enthusiasm and dedication in delivering the basic needs of the Bangsamoro.

“We are really implementing quality projects that are really needed by the constituents and they will definitely benefit from these projects,” the governor said.

“Whatever you (MHSD) entrusted to us, we will surely do everything to complete them,” he assured.

Meanwhile, Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim announced that the three projects will make a total of nine in Tawi-Tawi with just two remaining to complete the MHSD’s commitment of establishing housing projects in the 11 municipalities of the province.

The signing was witnessed by Hon. Sabuddin N. Abdurahim, Secretary of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) and key technical personnel from the MHSD and LGU-Tawi-Tawi.

Deputy Minister Asiri concluded the activity with gratefulness and statement that it was a product of continued collaboration of the BARMM and the provincial government.
