A multipurpose, one-story human development training center is now available for students at Mindanao State University (MSU)-Sulu after its turnover ceremony conducted by the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD), the Housing Arm of the BARMM, and the Office of Member of Parliament (MP) Atty. Jose I. Lorena on November 5, 2024, at the MSU-Sulu Campus.
The construction of the building was undertaken by the MHSD and funded under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of the office of MP Lorena, who is the project proponent.
The turnover of the training center to MSU-Sulu was officially declared by MHSD Deputy Minister Aldin H. Asiri, who reminisced about their dreams as students to contribute to the community. He emphasized the significance of the training center in enhancing the knowledge and skills of students and other sectors.
In his opening message, Dr. Kadafi A. Basaluddin, Director for Planning and Development of MSU-Sulu, highlighted the university’s need for additional buildings due to the increasing number of students. He also confirmed that the training center will greatly contribute to developing the knowledge and skills of the students.
Abdulbasar C. Abdula conveyed MP Lorena’s message of continued support and his concern for the students, evident in his response to the school’s request to be a beneficiary of his project.
In her message of gratitude, Prof. Rohina S. Adju, Director for Administration of MSU-Sulu, recounted their efforts to address the infrastructure gaps in the school to meet the growing number of students and their increasing needs. She also expressed her deepest gratitude to MP Lorena and to the MHSD for the great assistance to the school.
Bangsamoro Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim also shared his happiness for the milestone achieved by the partnership so with the other projects implemented by the MHSD and in the Province of Sulu.
The program concluded with a message from Prof. Abubakar I. Radjuni, Faculty Union President of MSU-Sulu, who acknowledged the teachers and other staff of the university and reiterated their gratitude to the MHSD and MP Lorena.
