Harmony, amity and balance served as the key words that inspired the essence of the Office of the Minister (OM) Year-End Assessment and 2025 Outlook that was conducted at the Quest Hotel, Cebu City on January 10-11, 2025 that was initiated by the Office of the Chief of Staff (OCOS).
With the acronym HAB, mirroring the initials of Minister Atty. Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra, the three words made up his reminder to the employees in serving the Bangsamoro, while also maintaining a proper work-life balance.
In his inspirational message, Minister Barra quoted Surah Al-Qasas, Ayat 77 that is “But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters,”
As one of the major components of the assessment, representatives from the different sections of the OM, such as the OCOS, the Internal Planning, Legal and Legislative Liaison, Internal Audit, and the Information and Communications, reported their respective accomplishments, issues, recommendations and their way forward to 2025, all of which were collated by the secretariat and summarized at the end of the presentations that made it easily addressed by the top management in the ways forward.
Representing their respective sections, the reporters were Nahida T. Jalani, Administrative Officer III, for the O COS, Datu Ali S. Linso, Administrative Assistant for the Internal Planning Section, Edison Chris C. Mondrano, Administrative Officer III for the Legal and Legislative Liaison Section (LLLS), Kara Hezelina B. Tabujara, Administrative Assistant VI for the Internal Audit Section and Juwairiyah bint Emran Mohamad, Information Officer I for the Information and Communications Section (ICS).
Director General Esmael W. Ebrahim, in his opening remarks, emphasized the meaning of assessment that is not new to the group according to him and said it will have an impact on the Ministry and to everyone’s well-being and roles in the office.
“The success of our office, especially the Office of the Minister, depends on how we perform especially in this very crucial time that we are playing important roles in our Ministry,” he further stated.
The status of the updating of the Ministry’s Citizen Charter was also presented by Atty. Nasihah S. Mamarungcas, LLLS Head.
Team building activities, raffle draws, reflection session, awarding ceremonies, and city tour also highlighted the OM event.
The best presenter adjudged by Minister Barra was AO-III Mondrano of the LLLS, best dressed male and female employees were Hamsari H. Pala and Salembai A. Abdullah, both from the ICS, as adjudged respectively by Deputy Minister Aldin H. Asiri and Director General Ebrahim.
The event concluded with the message of Deputy Minister Asiri confirming the attainment of the main goal of the activity of the OM.
“We were able to present the pressing issues and concerns and at the same time, we were able to come up with corresponding solutions so we have our roadmap for next year”, he stated before committing to continue supporting the OM.
